MATHEMATICS- Our program emphasizes strong computational, problem-solving, and geometry skills through lively and engaging activities. Small group and one on one instruction supports each child toward mastery of skills, processes, and application. Offerings in Middle and High School include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-Calculus.
READING-Too often, students' skills can stagnate and never recover. Thankfully, there are some terrific tech tools we use to help teachers support students' growth. From phonemic awareness to phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, the skills covered mean you're bound to find the right tool to support your students' needs. CHILD Inc. will provide diagnostic tools to interactive e-readers, close-reading instruction, and even some online reading communities to help kids get engaged around high-interest topics
WRITING- Small group, and individual lessons are offered in order to help students become masters of various forms on writing needed for various content areas. Students are creating poetry, plays, short stories, historical and scientific research papers, persuasive essays, and speeches. They become masters of the written word. And all the while, the virtues are supporting their efforts and their efforts are reinforcing the virtues. They learn that diligence pays off. They learn that in order to write a persuasive essay, they must have the courage to jump in and have an opinion. As they practice the virtues, their skills become stronger.
EOG/EOC- CHILD, Inc. offers tutorials for test taking skills, organizational skills, and time management. Child Inc. also offers End of Grade review (EOG) and End of Course review (EOC) in preparation for all students.
SAT/ACT- CHILD Inc. also provides SAT and ACT preparation for our high school students. Assistance is given in completing college applications, writing effective essays, and producing striking
resumes.
